Before you book
How long does an appointment take?
It depends on the style, the size and the length. Cornrows, natural twists and loc retwists are among the shorter appointments; knotless, boho, French curl and other small or long styles can take several hours. When you send a request, tell us the style, size and length you have in mind and we will give you a realistic time before you choose a day. We are open Monday to Saturday, 8am to 5pm, so longer styles are best booked for the morning.
Do you provide the hair, or should I bring my own?
Braiding hair is provided for most styles, pre-washed and prepared before your appointment. It is not provided for faux locs, invisible locs, crochet braids, Marley twists, French curl braids, or Bora Bora and boho styles that need curly hair. For those you can bring your own, or buy hair from us - including our own Miracle Crown Hair - subject to the colors and textures in stock. If the color you want is not in stock, bring it from an approved brand and drop it off at least two days before your appointment. The booking notes on our contact page have the full details.
How should I prepare my hair?
Ask when you book how to prepare your hair for your style. Most braided styles go in best on hair that is clean, detangled and dry.
How long will my protective style last?
That depends on the style and how it is cared for. Most braided styles are generally worn for several weeks. Sleeping in a satin bonnet or on a satin pillowcase, keeping your scalp moisturized and avoiding constant tight ponytails all help. We will talk you through aftercare for your specific style, because what suits locs is not what suits boho braids.
Do you offer hair and scalp care?
Yes. Healthy hair comes first here. Alongside our styles, we also offer hair care guidance and scalp-focused services to support healthy natural hair. Ask about them when you book or while you are in the chair.
